Crey Responsible for Rikti Invasion?

by Con Valesce

Is Crey Industries responsible for the Rikti Invasion?

Confidential sources indicate that Crey was stealing technology from the Rikti with a dimensional gate based on Portal Corp technology. This supposedly happened well before the Rikti Invasion of earth took place. It is also possible Countess Crey blames the Rikti for her husband Count Alphonse Crey's coma, though details are still sketchy as to the events surrounding Count Crey's current condition.

The Portal Corps, based on prior investigations of their dimension, had no indications that the Rikti were particularly war like or hostile. Were actions by Crey Industries the reason the Rikti invaded? Was there Crey involvement for this lack of information? Countess Crey claimed a clerical error was why they still had the previously unknown Rikti technology. Are they skilled at making sure certain things do not get put down on paper?

Is the invasion force here on earth only one side of a war on the Rikti home world? Is Crey Industries undermining the stability of the Rikti home world and Earth's?

What do the Rikti want? Is it our resources they seek? Is earth a prime military location for a much larger war? Or are the Rikti just protecting themselves from Crey Industries?

Crey industries comment was. "The rumors are spread around by our competitors in the hopes that they will cause trouble for us. There is no truth to them. We assured the UN, and now you, that we no longer have any interest in alien research and are pursuing our own projects from now on."

Crey Industries has lost all of its contracts and is currently forbidden to work on Rikti research after the Vanguard discovered that the company illegally possessed a number of Rikti weapons and rare suits of advanced combat armor.

'WaterTank' a power for the Tanker Archetype?

by John Jonsson

Paragon's heroes are complaining. The new mentality that is ‘Archetypes’ has finally settled, but in the passing of the emotional response, more founded cries for answers can be heard among the hero populace.

After the initial split reactions concerning the new classification system, many heroes are coming around to understand its advantages. With the ability to quickly organize balanced groups, the hero community has seen a boost in effectiveness when battling the minions of the ill-famed.

Team efforts in general are becoming more common. Many heroes become more modest and down to earth, when they feel they belong. New heroes are often grateful for the helpful guidelines the Archetypes provide. “At least now I know I won’t take the wrong approach to my powers.” says a young mutant hero as I watch him fill out his certificate.

While the new system is becoming more respected, not everyone is ready to turn. “I just don’t get it. Archetypes schmarketypes - how do I know where I belong? Yea, blasters blast and scrappers scrap, but the officials aren’t doing enough to inform us heroes if you ask me,” says an anonymous hero. This opinion is shared by many. Some heroes can’t even get their license renewed because their powers haven’t been properly documented. Hero efficiency seems to be ameliorated in the big picture but the little guy still suffers.

Statesman has assured the inhabitants of Paragon on many occasions that full documentation will come over time. Still, many heroes are impatient and demand at least some temporary templates so they can go back to operating in the city. Edward ‘Titan-kin’ Lauren is one of those distressed. “I’m almost running out of business, I can’t construct me a new armor if I don’t know the specifics.” And in the mean-time Paragon goes without one of its greatest protectors.

The city’s heroes demand answers, but ultimately they trust their greatest mentor Statesman to come out with the right information at the right time.

Crey Security Foils Burglary

by Linda Overstreet

Crey Industries security forces foiled an attempted burglary last night in a warehouse located near Steel Canyon. The suspect escaped after exchanging gunfire with several security guards.

The warehouse, one of many, is located in Crey's industrial park. Crey spokeswoman Ingrid Lee stated that this warehouse contained only a cache of nitrous oxide also known as "laughing gas." Security forces were alerted after the suspect tripped a silent alarm.

Guards arrived on the scene and spotted a lone suspect. They observed the suspect using an electric device attached to the palm of his hand to overload the electronic lock on the warehouse's door.

When security attempted to sneak up on the suspect to subdue him, a gun fight ensued. The suspect pulled a shotgun hidden within what the spokeswoman claims appeared to be a rubber chicken. After firing on the guards, the suspect left on foot.

During the chase two guards were doused with a potent version of novelty "itching powder". The powder caused a dangerous reaction to the two guards. Under the influence of the powder the guards tore off their uniforms and scratched their own skin to the point of bleeding. Emergency crews had to tranquilize the two guards so they would not cause further injury to themselves. The guards were released from the hospital with only minor injuries after being thoroughly bathed.

Another guard fell down a flight of stairs after slipping on a banana peel left behind by the suspect. The guard suffered cuts and bruises but is reportedly otherwise alright.

Police believe the suspect to be former comedian George Gladstone who appears to taken on the villainous alias Gagman. Gladstone is wanted for questioning in the murder of his comic rival with a novelty toy filled toxic gas and the theft of a two ton pool ball from the roof of Sharky's Pool Hall.

"We are taking this incident very seriously." Spokeswoman Lee said.
