Paragon City Open for Business!

by Ashton Burrows

A new day dawns in Paragon City.

A new day dawns in Paragon City.

By the time you read this, the wait will almost be over - Paragon City will soon open its doors to heroes of all Archetypes and Origins. Heroes with special invitations will have been active within Paragon City for three extra days, but the majority of heroes are expected to enter Paragon City on and after April 28.

Following a successful Beta Project - where a small number of heroes tested infrastructure rebuilt following the Rikti invasion - hope is high among heroes that Paragon City will offer them a warm reception, along with a lot of villains to fight. Reviews of heroing experiences within Paragon City have mostly been positive, but the full reaction of the general hero population to the Birthplace of Tomorrow won't be known until after release. It is expected that several professional city reviewers will be releasing statements about their experiences in the near future.

Paragon City Hall have asked heroes to be patient in the first few days after the City opens - the zones of Atlas Park and Galaxy City are expected to be jammed full of heroes, which could put some of the local infrastructure under strain. Once this boom has passed however, it is expected that the operation of Paragon City should return to normal.

Rikti Sub - Dimensional Technology Defends Paragon City

by Pere Torr

The first major infrastructure use of Rikti dimensional technology has been introduced to Paragon City with the creation of multiple Atlas Parks, Galaxy Cities and Steel Canyons within the one City. By copying one zone into several different versions, Paragon City has solved the problems of apartment shortages, hero overpopulation and improved the defensibility of its location.

The technology sees a location perfectly duplicated in terms of the environment and buildings. For the most part a hero or citizen can only exist in one version of the zone at a time, but authorised individuals can purchase devices to keep them in all zones at once - useful to have if a hero needs to contact you.

A Paragon City Hall representative said the technology allows Paragon City to function better than ever before. "It solves a number of problems," she says. "Heroes no longer have to hunt high and low for criminals - there are more than enough to go round. Splitting the zone actually decreases crime overall, since the villains are spread more thinly, but they are now more visible when they commit illegal acts."

"It also makes Paragon City more invasion resistant. If the Rikti needed 1000 soldiers to take Atlas Park before, they now need 1000 for each duplicate zone. This helps to keep our citizens safe."

"As a bonus for citizens, it is expected that apartment availability will increase and that rent will drop city wide. If you like a place in one zone but find it unavailable, you should check around the other duplicates - perhaps it will be available elsewhere!" she says.

The representative also commented that Rikti technology will be used in future changes to Paragon City, but would not elaborate on the details.

Alternate Paragon City Dimensions Located

by Victoria Valance

Paragon City scientists watching any signs of interdimensional invasion have made a startling discovery - a series of near-perfect duplicates of the Birthplace of Tomorrow exist, packed full of heroes with similar abilities to those on our world.

Chief Researcher Phillipe Cardinal says the discovery was a lucky one. "We were looking for signs of any Rikti or other threats, which means looking for alternate dimensions on different probability frequencies. Typically we've looked for dimensions with a large difference in probability frequency to that of our own, but in recent weeks we've started to move back to zero point, or towards our dimension. We got lucky and stumbled across one 'version' of Paragon City in a dimension that closely matches our own."

"So we started to look closer around that probability frequency and have discovered nine Paragon Cities that are almost exactly as our own."

Mr Cardinal and his team have designated these Paragon Cities as Pinnacle, Justice, Infinity, Guardian, Virtue, Protector, Victory, Champion and Liberty . He believes these dimensions are only slightly different to our own.

"They probably contain heroes with the same names but with different power combinations, or slightly different appearances. There certainly isn't a Reichsman / Statesman level of difference between us and these Cities - it's more like a small change at some key probability point has led to these dimensions coming into existance."

Mr Cardinal said he doesn't believe these dimensions to be a threat to Paragon City and that the future may see us communicating with them and sharing resources.
